Properties of PVP VA64
It is a copolymer structure of NVP and VA, which combines the properties of PVP and PVAC. It retains the good water solubility.adhesion, and film-forming properties of PVP, while also having relatively lower water absorption, wider solubility, better.plasticity, and stronger surface activity compared to PVP. It is suitable for the production and granulation of high-dose, poorly.water-soluble, and water sensitive drugs. Has low water absorption, high plasticity, and low viscosity.
Application of PVP VA64
As an adhesive for tablets and granules, it can be achieved by wet, dry granulation, or direct tablet pressing methods. In most cases, its dosage is 2-5% of the total amount of the preparation, usually around 3%, and the concentration of the adhesive is generally 5-10%. According to different substances and excipients, water, hexanol, isopropanol, etc. can be used as solvents. When using the direct tablet pressing method, the dosage is generally around 5%. Lactose, sorbitol, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, etc. can be used as excipients, but attention should be paid to controlling the moisture content in the ingredients to maintain appropriate adhesion.
